David commenced his career in the Aerospace industry designing composite structures for aircraft, but is now runs Optima Projects, a consultancy specialising in the design and engineering of composite structures with particular interests in the Marine industry and the construction sector.
David has designed numerous composite structures for marine applications such as fast ferries, patrol boats and wind farm vessels in addition to more unusual structures in the marine environment such as tidal turbine blades, well-head protection structures and fish farms.
