Ian is a consultant, project manager and concept designer, specialising in lightweight applications, in particular for clients taking first steps in composites and additive manufacturing.

​Starting out as an Undergraduate Apprentice at British Aerospace and subsequently graduating in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College, London, in 1988.

​Ian spent 10 years in Motorsport after graduating with such notable companies as Leyton House F1, TOM’S Toyota, Ferrari and Tyrrell working in aerodynamics and design and also as a “data engineer” (before this term was ever coined). Diversification of his career followed, working with advanced composites in a number of industries, such as Wind Energy, Marine, Aerospace as well as Automotive.

​He has most recently had spells as a contractor at Gordon Murray Design and McLaren Automotive.
