Steve Bruce

Steve’s professional career started as a meteorologist in the British Army and subsequently serving as an Arctic Warfare Specialist. Following a decade in senior level sales management, he has been in the marine leisure industry for 16 years. Previously sales manager at Seaquest Yachts, he founded The SBS Ltd in Hamble in 2009, initially offering a suite of services to yacht owners.

Now the company is the manufacturer of the FRIB, a unique design of folding RIB for leisure marine boaters as well being the UK and Ireland exclusive distributor of ePropulsion electric marine motors. Steve’s association with electric propulsion started with setting up an OEM contract to supply the FRIB’s with Torqeedo outboards, before switching to ePropulsion in 2016.

Steve has been a sailor since childhood, starting racing yachts as a junior member of the Royal Gourock Yacht Club, and his career has included being an RYA Cruising Instructor and a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, with thousands of miles of yacht racing and cruising under his belt.
