Northern Powerhouse Rail Director
Tim Wood has over 24 years’ experience in railway design and delivery and previously held two Rail Director positions in the private sector. He is known for early development of Rail PPP schemes and partner and stakeholder management.
Tim’s role at Transport for the North is to drive transformational economic change within the Pan Northern area on the rail system, starting with the delivery of the Strategic Outline Business Case for connectivity between the six major city regions of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Hull and Manchester International Airport, which will support the opportunity to create 850,000 new jobs and an increase in the GVA of £100bn by 2050.
